i am so excited to share with you something wonderful God has done in the past week. last monday my mom and i prayed that the Lord would open up the right time and the right person to go with me to Yoido Full Gospel Church, home to 750,000 members as the world's largest church. when i was younger i read pastor david yonggi cho's books and was greatly challenged to live a life of faith in a powerful, living God. so my mom and i prayed for this on monday. on wednesday i received the most random email from laura newby, whom i met at church, asking me if i would be willing to do her a favor and accompany her to "that big church in seoul" for some special afternoon service. kelsie, whom she would normally pal around with, couldn't make it. i laughed, because i knew instantly that God had answered our prayers. laura and i met at GEM (global english ministry) church in the morning and took the subway from migeum to yeouinuri - a 90 minute ride. here i am next to the main church building. the huge cross behind me marks the front of the church, i think.

note: in korea there is no "spring forward, fall back" ... it is the same year-round. so i will be 14 hours ahead of you until it comes time for you guys to "spring forward" again.

it's kind of like there's not much of a summer break here in korea. lol. it feels like these kids go year-round. alas, so maybe no summer backpacking trip to europe next year. ;)
