the steel steps going up... and coming back down. we're about 3/4 of the way to the top. laura and i stopped to check out the view, take some pictures, and get hydrated so we didn't keel over. lol. so far, a fair amount of the hike had been under tree cover, but here we began the ascent amidst mostly boulders. the steps took care of the parts where we would have otherwise had to scale the rock wall. the rest we were hopping from rocks to boulders and under and around and between more rocks. :) what fun!
