as you can see, korea is cities amidst the mountains. isn't it so beautiful- the green?? we are about 2/3 the way up to the top. i think it's actually fairly clear, though for your sake i wish it had been clearer. most of what you see in the distance are apartments. for whatever reason, i think koreans prefer to be packed in like sardines than to have homes. not that the size of their country would allow it, anyway. and besides, the smallness of their apartments must be what forces them to spend most of their time outside! unlike the bike paths and some streets in the states, korean streets are always full of people. families. children holding hands, grandmothers (who all look the same, by the way. i will have to put up a picture of the typical korean grandmother.), young women dressed oh-so-feminine. and many people were on this hike. koreans in full hiking get-up. it was pretty intense. some older men and some young children. i was impressed, because some parts were fairly challenging.
