the day was a peaceful one, and there were not so many people, which was nice. i had an especially nice time with aunt katie... catching up with her news of their family. (they have 5 children and have now moved to va beach.) she was eager to hear about jody, so i was excited to share with her how we met and what our tentative plans are after the wedding.
overall it was a great day.
now i can hardly believe it... tomorrow we leave for forest, va for daniel and courtney's wedding. it will be held on saturday evening 6pm at the inn at trivium (http://www.theinnattrivium.com/) about 2.5 hours away. pretty much we're all ready to go! daniel and luke have left to go pick up chris from the airport. i'm so excited to see him. it's been 2 years.
it is still sinking in a bit that daniel is getting married. even though he and courtney have been together for quite some time, it's still such a huge step - one that should not be taken lightly. the past few days i have been praying for them to be prepared in every way for this new phase in their lives. it is the same prayer i have been praying for jody and me.
how can one be fully prepared for marriage? how can one ever anticipate the challenges that await in life?? it's impossible. i've just been reading the sermon on the mount lately, and the part i read last night was on building one's house on the rock. so when the rain comes down and the floods rise, the house does not fall. may it be so for daniel and courtney, and jody and myself.
please pray for both daniel and me as we make this huge jump in our lives. i know my eyes are fixed on the Lord. only He can sustain us!
and i won't lie. i am beyond stoked see jody in 4 days.... but who's counting?
:)
