today was a wonderfully rainy day. i woke up to a steady rain that turned into a torrential downpour. it was delightful... i was able to stay inside and catch up with a few friends over skype. amazing how small the world gets with an online phone. :) ... and how encouraging familiar voices are.
classes are going more smoothly. i am getting to know my students and their individual strengths and weaknesses better. i am starting to organize a roll and grading, and i am developing more balanced lesson plans in line with what English Reading Club expects.
funny thing: little ryan is a rambunctious, but cute, 5 year old in my first class. he is absolutely the most inattentive little one ever! needless to say, it takes all of my resourcefulness to get him to participate at any level. at the start of today's class he was no different, but then he began rubbing his eyes. within 2 minutes of the eye-rubbing, he was OUT. completely zonked out until the end of class. haha. the other kids tried waking him up, but to no avail. i am wondering... do they make allowances for naptime at ERC?
here is my bedroom. it is wonderful... but the next (and hopefully last) adjustment to be made is NEW draperies. aren't they absolutely dreadful now? lol
