so tired! saturday maria and i found a hair cuttery in migeum so i could get my hair trimmed. it was the first time i had TWO men blow-drying my hair. i think i heard somebody say they double up over here. in any case, i felt like i was getting special treatment. :) afterwards we went to the orphanage. more and more people are going from the church, so we were all packed like sardines in that tiny apartment! this time we colored. one of the girls couldn't let the tiniest bit of the white page be left blank. emily said (from some knowledge of art therapy, i guess) she is terrified of loneliness. amazing how that could be when she is constantly surrounded by 15 people.

i have yet to take my camera to the orphanage, but these shots are some hard copies Pastor Bob gave me.

sooyeon and i hung out in migeum afterwards... from haagen dazs we saw the first snowfall of the season. it was so great to see her and spend time together. she let me borrow a disc so i could install a korean dvd program into my laptop... it will allow me to play korean dvds to my children without requiring i constantly switch regions back and forth. i just got an email from her... she's sick right now. please pray for healing!

sunday was church, lunch, bs (bible study)... then kelsie and i took the subway to abgujung to do some shopping. i have been desperately wishing for some flannel-lined pants, because only here do people walk the streets in the freezing cold. unfortunately, we only found stores like Louis Vitton and COACH... lol. the sales were from W563,000 down to W485,000. yesssssssss! ;) i left kelsie to go on to her salsa lessons and i returned to migeum for some turkey soup and laughs at dave and winnie's. we ended up telling childhood spanking stories. i don't think i've laughed like that since i've been in korea.

yesterday before school i decided to face my fear and take bus 6800 to gangnam station and from there took the subway to yeoksam to meet emily at her apartment. i never do well with something the first time, so i was definitely nervous being surrounded by the ridiculous numbers of people in that place. anyway, emily and i connected and we had a great time. she showed me her wedding pictures, and she made me banana muffins. :)

i've gotten 2 new girls in my Step 3 class! they are both precious. ally is 6th grade and 13 (12 in American, i guess) and kate is in 9th grade and 16 (15 in American). yesterday after class they wanted to stay and look at the pictures i have saved on my laptop. kate asked me if i'd seen a walk to remember or the prince and me and made raving comments like "i was deeply moved" and "oh, he's so cute" just like any other teenager. LOL.
