the joys and trials of teaching

today caleb brought in a toy pistol and insisted (almost to the point of blows) to wendy that it was real.
as always, i say, "put it away. you may play with it after class!"
"ok, miss ruth."
"NOW, caleb."


but then, there are the exciting moments, when he says, "miss ruth, is this handwriting good?"
"OH, yes, caleb. VERY GOOD!" (a high five, then a satisfied smile from him)


lol. oh the joys.


the other teachers have started calling me for advice on discipline and classroom management. the vice principals at my high school came to my mind. they were always demonized as oh-so-terrible, and now here i am. ahaha!


as for jason... he has to take a make-up vocab quiz. pray he doesn't fail! i really want this kid to succeed!
